Jessner lymphocytic infiltration of the skin

1 - INTRODUCTION

Jessner Lymphocytic Infiltration of the Skin (JLIS) is a pathology that is difficult to treat considering it has a good prognosis. It is a rare and benign condition. It is still debated whether it is an individual entity, and some believe it to be related to lupus erythematosus (LE) [1, 2]. It has been classed as a cutaneous T-cell pseudolymphoma of unknown aetiology but it could be thought to be closer to a purely cutaneous form of lupus erythematosus. Treatment sometimes makes use of thalidomide, which does risk neurotoxicity, or synthetic anti-malarial drugs [2, 3]. There have been a number of case studies that report the therapeutic potential of lasers [4].
