Summary
1 - INTRODUCTION
Impetigo is a contagious pyoderma of the superficial layers of the skin that was first described in 1860 by Dunn and Fox. It is the most common infectious disease found in the paediatric population and it accounts for approximately one tenth of consultations in paediatric dermatology clinics. The two main known clinical forms are: non-bullous impetigo (Tilbury Fox impetigo) and bullous impetigo.
