Lichen planus

1 - DEFINITION

Lichen planus (LP) is an inflammatory dermatological disorder affecting the skin and/or mucous membranes, with an estimated prevalence of 0.5% in the general population.

It most commonly affects the oral mucosa and skin. The genital mucosa and more rarely the eye and oesophageal mucosa, the nails and scalp may also be involved.
